Rally Day September 22nd Castle Combe Circuit

What cars are eligible? (Rally day requirement not RCCC)
It is very important that the event retains a rallying theme throughout. Hence we ask that all participating cars on display and on track have a connection with rallying. We do not require club cars to be actual rally cars, just the make and models to be synonomous with the sport  In our case this means 4CVs Dauphines R8s 8G 12 TS 12G Turbo 1 and 2  A110 R17G R5 Gordini.

To book your ticket please contact Nigel Patten  contact Nigel  or 0127625426 to book your space and send your cheque  £10 made out to RCCC.

Would members of CAR or ROC who wish to join us on this event please telephone Nigel as soon as possible to enable us to book sufficient space.

Club Alpine Renault Speed Championship 2007

RCCC has been invited to participate in the CAR Speed Championship 2007 those wishing to participate should contact   Paul Godfrey  at  Custurd.Motorsport@btinternet.com

This year’s Championship will run under the same rules that have been established since 2003. This hopefully provides more motivation to compete with others rather than find events to run solo. In addition we are inviting RCCC to join us and their members will be eligible to compete in our Championship entering events under the CAR banner.  There will betwenty rounds to choose from:

Full details of each event can be found on the MSA website. Visit www.msauk.org and go to Fixtures > Club >  view, which will provide all you need to contact the organising club for entry forms, regs etc.

A National B non- race Competition Licence is necessary to compete in any of these events (being the minimum requirement). Full details of scrutineering requirements are found in the MSA Blue Book, which is given to all Licence Holders. If you have any doubts or queries, I will try to help if you want to you contact me. Use my mobile (07767 437978) to send a text or leave a voice mail if I do not answer.

Each competitor will need to agree to enter a chosen event under ‘TEAM CLUB ALPINE RENAULT’, provide photographs of the competing car displaying the Club windscreen strip (which will be provided), send full results of the event to the Competition Secretary and provide a brief write up of the day. The Regulations will be provided on receipt of your registration fee of £20 for CAR members and £30 (which includes temporary CAR membership) for RCCC members. The revenue from registration fees is used to ensure the financial independence of the Championship so that it can be self supporting and not reliant on Club Funds.

The Dimanche Sprint 2007

Nigel Patten ,Tony Gomis , Pat Bridger and John Pigeon Take part in the first event of the season run by the Farnborough and District Motor Club. All four improved their times on each run and john and Pat had good times for their first ever  sprint.

John managed a minor off across the grass having become airborne before ploughing the grass and writing off his new airofoil.

La vie en Bleu Prescott Hill 2007

Despite being an extremely wet and windy weekend this turned out to be the greatest collection of French sporting cars seen in the UK for many years. this was a first of  a kind at Prescott and with a little polishing could become the weekend of the year not to miss for the French car enthusiast. From our clubs point of view it was good to see so many of our members having a go. Well done to Nigel Patten, John Pigeon, Pat Bridger, Leanne Sassin, Geoff Sassin, Tony Gomis, Paul Godfrey .It was also good to see the clubs working together to make a wonderful weekend.

North Weald 2007

A wonderful day was only marred by the news of the death of Colin Mc Rae in a tragic helicopter crash and a second helicopter crash at the airfield towards the end of the event. Fortunately  we heard on the news later that occupants of the later accident had walked away from the accident.

The day's racing was first class with Pat Bridger taking a pot for second in class, not bad in his first year. This event was a round of the CAR championship so it was a pity that only 5 Renaults were present.

Castle Combe Rally Day 2007

Rally day this year was said to be one of the best yet and enjoyed by those who attended. Once again the club had a fine display of vehicles and Geoff and Phil demonstrated their Alpine 110s on the track.
