We are fortunate to have Nigel Patten as competition secretary. Nigel has many years experience of competing in Renault cars  mailto:rccccompsec@renaultclassiccarclub.com

We are aware that a number of 8 Gordinis  have changed owners this season some of you have joined the club we have also heard of a few 8 Gordinis in garages and out of use. We would like to hear from all Gordini owners as the club is a good way to coordinate access to spares and experience of these cars, and also we have a range of events both in the UK and France which we attend.

John Bennett  in  the EXETER TRIAL starting at Cirencester on the night of the 4th of January and finishing sometime Saturday afternoon at Torquay. John attempted about 14 very rough hills and timed special tests.

John Bennett was please to earn a silver medal. The hill he failed was Normans hump which he has cleared in the past but not this time. John was particularly pleased to Simms, the main stopper of the event, and was only one of three cars in his class to succeed.

Once again Nigel had a good turn out for the track day on the 31st of August. The theme for the club stand was sporting Renaults within our club brief and the range was well represented by  4cvs .Dauphine Gordini.R8Gs,Alpine 110 s and a R5 Turbo 1.Paul and friends arrived with a splendid selection of cars and it was also good to meet members who did not have a car present on the day but were there to enjoy the event and meet old friends. Nigel wishes to stress that although he would want to retain the sporting theme of cars at the sports events all members are welcome to attend and participate in the day.
