Beaulieu
Our first outing this year was the Beaulieu Spring autojumble where the club
had been offered a promotional stand. The weather let us down rather badly with
heavy rain and high winds but somehow we did manage to lash the stand to the
ground and prevent it blowing away. It was nice to meet and talk to so many
people and we did gain a few new members so the weekend was worthwhile.
Enfield Pageant
Enfield 2003 The forecast for day one was dire so we set of without much enthusiasm
for day one however we managed to miss all the rain and had a very pleasant day
the we had a number of cars on display from new members and the quality was
excellent. Mike Muller's R4 Van and Felicity Jowitt's 4GTL attracted a lot of
attention and Len Kiff's Dauphine with 8000 miles from new was stunning. Once
again we gained new members and a super day was had by all.
Day two brought a fine selection of new cars with Stuart Kitchens Dauphine,
Steve Dale's Fregate , Richard Parminter's Floride and Richard Attfield's 4CV
Day three again a great turnout with an R 10 an R8 and another 750 and an R16 to
add to the stand .Overall we have had 13 members bring cars to the show and a
further 5 members attend the stand and pass time with friends. This must rate as
one of our best events to date.
Grantham Classic Car Show
Grantham Classic Car Club was blessed with glorious weather for it's show
this year and we were fortunate to have a nice shaded area for the club stand.
We missed Robin who was missing due to his hospital treatment and Kevin who had
a family wedding but a good day was had by all and it was good to meet friends.
Adingly Vintage Vehicle Show
What a weekend ! The weather was brilliant and the sun shone for the whole
weekend. This show was a true family event with good cars for the enthusiast and
many other attractions for the family from a steam fair to craft stalls to
discos and bear tent with live music. For those of us who camped the weekend
there was a chance to spend time with friends enjoy a splendid barbecue in the
evening.
The 9th Nostalgia Show
Not so lucky for the weather at this show which must have been disappointing
for the organizers and participants alike. The weather did pick up however and
Sunday was dry all day. Once again we had a good range of cars on the day and
some members who were unable to bring cars visited the stand and made new
friends.
Yeovil Festival of Transport
This year the event was managed by Paul Draper our new R16 Registrar. Reports
were of another successful event with two new members bringing their 4CVs
Richard Johnson with his newly aquired R16 and Eric Lane with his R12 no
pictures available yet but I am promised some in the near future. Castle
Combe Super Rally Day
A surprise attendance as we were not expecting to attend this event this
year. A late invitation from the event organizer left Nigel and Dave looking for
cars at very short notice and the club managed to put on a good display of cars
with a rally history |
