The following pages show the story of my Renault Floride restoration. This is a long term project due to time available, finances, parts availability and its purely a hobby. I have had to fabricate everything from sills to the floor, the only bought items are the outer sill covers and they had to be modified.
Why a Floride ? I wanted a convertible with a removable hard top that was completely different from anything else.
The pictures are not in restoration order and show what I was doing at the particular time. I quite often made a lot of progress then took a series of photos afterwards unless there was something that was going to be hidden and needed an immediate picture.
A couple of pictures of where it all began, not very dignified but it had to get home somehow...
That is me slowly taking Flo apart, the garage roof was again slowly filling up.
Yes, we all have those customary box of bits, how much fitted Flo we did not know.
A before and after shot. Note the date, its current Dec 2001. This inside the rear wheel arch looking forward. This is one of Renault's weak spots, there are many others !
