Introduced in 1968 to fill the gap between the 4 and the 16 the six had more comfort better ventilation and heating and a less Spartan finish.1.5 million cars were produced with differing finish and engines before production ended in 1979. Cooling system sealed containing water and glycol with rust inhibiter . Protection down to -35C.
Transmission Four speed all synchromesh . Clutch with single dry plate. Diaphram spring
Brakes Hydraulic with pressure limiting valve in rear brake line to prevent rear brakes locking.
Suspension Independent on all four wheels by torsion bars,longditudinal at the front and transverse at the rear with hydraulic shock absorbers. Anti roll bar at the front Steering direct action rack and pinion. reduction ratio 17.1:1. turning circle 32.5 ft (between kerbs) Capacities
