THERE ARE 90 RENAULT 750’S AND 4CV’S KNOWN TO EXIST IN THE U.K.The 750 was built in the UK by Renault at their Acton London factory from knocked down kits imported from the Billancourt Paris plant until the end of 1956 with the introduction of the Dauphine. The 750 continued to be imported from the French factory until 1961.The English cars were fitted with many items made in Britain such as Smiths instruments, AC Delco ignition components, chrome bumpers , trim from Rubery Owen and some Lucas electrical parts. The R C C C has a UK Register of the 750 and it's counterpart the 4CV.There are now 90 cars on the Register. There are 24 750s and 26 4CVs roadworthy the remainder being out of service or being restored.Of the 90 total we have 3 4CV cabriolet versions, 2 original and one conversion from a standard car.At Present we have a number of cars for sale which would make excellent projects including one cabriolet why don't you come and join us most parts are available and the club can offer lots of support in bringing these little cars back to life.Robin. |
