Rear Engine Cars   -  Turbo 1-2

Back to the Rear Engine Register

Following interest from some members the club has decided to develop a Register in the club for the Renault 5Turbo/Turbo2.

My name is Paul Williams and I was the  Registrar for the Renault 5 Turbo 1 & 2.

Firstly, I would like to thank the Renault Classic Car Club for welcoming the Turbo 1 and 2 into the club. I have been the proud owner of my Turbo 2 for the past eighteen months and although I don’t pretend to be an expert, I am an avid enthusiast and as such have gained a lot of knowledge in a short time. I will be more than happy to help anyone with any queries they have about the Car.

I have been a Classic Car Enthusiast from the age of 10 and re-built my first car (a 1964 VW Beetle) at the age of 15. From then on up until 1999 I restored numerous ‘basket-case’ projects spending all my free time welding, engine building, panel beating and spraying.

Being a Rally Fan and ever since owning a Renault 5 Gordini in 1986, the 5 Turbo was one of cars that I REALLY wanted to own. Fortunately, whilst surfing the net one day I came across one for sale at John Price Rallying. I fell in love with the car straight away and hope to keep it for many years to come.

The Registrar is vacant we are looking for a new registrar as Paul has had to give up through health problems if you are a turbo two owner and a club member and would like to take on the role please email RCCC Sec
